I am 29 weeks pregnant and my feet and ankles have been swelling for weeks now, bit now my fingers are swollen too. Should I be worried about preeclampsia?? My blood pressure is normal 110 over like 70 or 80 and the only other symptom I had was seeing spots of light for a minute last night, but I was leaning over to feed my dog and maybe that caused that. Anyone else out there had bad sweeling and it has been nothing to worry about??

drink more water..most swelling is caused from retaining water..eat less sodium filled foods..eat more fruits/veggies and drink water like it is going to run out! only down side is you have to run to the bathroom..but for your sake it is worth it..you getting dizzy could be a number of things, probably blood sugar is low. eat healthy and drink healthy. your doc will check you out at your next appt. GOODLUCK!

You will tend to swell anyway since you are in your third trimester. Bending over like that and straightening too quickly will make you see spots. Your blood volume doubles during pregnancy and it will make you swell and you will be a lot more hot natured than normal; it was the only time I was able to freeze my husband out of the house with the air conditioning! I would break out in a sweat from being too hot just walking across the yard. Take it as easy as you can, walk regularly, avoid salty foods and caffeine, and put your feet up when you can. Your blood pressure sounds great. Be sure to talk to your doctor about your concerns! Best wishes and good luck for a healthy baby!

I ALWAYS swell! The further along I am the more I swell. I've been through 4 pregnancies and have always swelled, never even been close to having preeclampsia. To help with swelling in the feet I've found it best to wear shoes that tie most of the day, it really keeps that swelling down. It's just part of the wonderful world of pregnancy. Good Luck! :)

Have you told your doctor about this? You need to drink more water...and lower your salt intake. Swelling happens because a woman retains water during pregnancy...also the return from the blood in your legs to your heart slows down because of the weight of the uterus on your pelvic veins. It could be completely normal. My feet swelled a little bit when I was pregnant with my son but there was nothing wrong. If your blood pressure is normal and if your doctor knows and he/she isn't worried...then you shouldn't worry. But try drinking more water. And try putting your feet up too.

Call your ob...you might need to come in and have them take a look at HOW MUCH swelling you are experiencing...they are measured in stages. Swelling is NORMAL in all pregnant women but when you start to feel that your swelling is getting a little our of hand and you start feeling dizzy and your vision starts getting blury...that's a huge RED FLAG that should tell you to go to your doctor asap...but nevertheless...you should get it checked out...they will tell you what stage your swelling is in and what you should do to help control it...like keeping your feet up, etc.
