As long as she has put it in her account, it won't expire.

AFA moving video/songs from the ipod to the computer I'm assuming you're moving it from one computer to another? If so, you first have to connect the ipod to the computer (make sure you don't have the ipod set to automatically update when it's connected or you may lose your data-change this with it connected to the computer where you first added them to your ipod-then connect to a new computer). Go into "My Computer" and select your ipod (usually the D: or E: drive, regardless, it should say something like "USB storage device") Go into your music/video folder on that and copy everything to a new folder. I usually put this on the desktop so I can find it easily and name it something with my name so I know what it is. Depending on how much data you have and how fast your computer is, this should only take a minute or two.

I don't know about the expiration thing. I would hope not but you never know. As far as getting songs/vids onto your computer, you can do normally only if the songs/vids came from the same computer with the Itunes program and ipod account. If you try to put it on another computer it will not permit it because of piracy and what not. There are a couple ways around it though. If your ipod has data storage capability then you can put the songs/vids on there as files and then put them on another computer, kinda using it like a disc/flash drive. Also, if you have two computers you can put Itunes on the second one along with the same ipod account and you'll be able to do it.

I doubt it can expire.
You can get everything off your iPod.
With special programs or making your computer show hidden files and exploring the iPod folder and going into music.
Then choose sort by file type and copy all the mp4's you have.
