goski.com is a great site and should give you the low down along with user reviews for just about any resort in the world.

Bariloche in Argentina is the largest and probably the most diverse ski/ snowboard area in the South America. Sure there are areas where there is greater nightlife (this area is great for that too.. ) & there may be areas higher in the Alpine with perhaps more snow.

Those areas could be more risky to closing due to high avalanche on pistes, closed lifts due to wind or just difficult to get too considering the road access, which can be notorious in SA.

There is a good mix of bus connections, solid hotel industry (with quality accomodations) and lift service in the area. A friend told me once of the snowsports in SA and especially Argentinians, "they don't like to sweat" meaning that they don't want to work too hard for their mountain experience.

There is a real effort to moderize the area. Check out the links. The area is amazing.

The www.goski.com that was already recommended is a great site for information. It has, not only information from the resort, but also reviews from people who have been there. It's a good site to check out.

Bariloche is the main extensive-unfold vacationer ski motel. in case you prefer some extremely unusual superb place, bypass to Termas de Chillan in Chile. That place is surprising. you could take a quick flight from Santiage to Chillan, and then a van from the motel (referred to as "Termas de Chillan"). city itself is grotesque. yet, the slopes are exciting, no longer as crowded as American ones, the placement is truthfully captivating and the motel has fairly some centers. a minimum of supply it a thought!

look into bariloche, argentina. it's an awesome town with a beautiful lake and a big mountain.
if you have any desire to save $, go with anywhere in argentina (las lenas) since you get a lot for your dollar there.
also, i think in las lenas you can only buy lift tickets when you stay at their fancy hotel. you can stay in a hostel in bariloche. and eat chocolate and smoked boar. yum.
