the speakers have gone a bit funny these past few weeks, it plays normally and sounds ok, but when i put the volume up sometimes it makes a noise like scratching or something. i've had the player for around 3 or 4yrs, is it time to get a new one?

It sounds like a loose connection somewhere in your speakers, have you tried another pair of speakers? Try a pair of headphones, and if the problem persists, you'll find that the CD player is at fault. Hope this helps.

no it is not actually required for u to replace a new one unless and until u want to go in for a new one otherwise what u do is
ur cd players lens must have collected dust into it
so try cleaning the lens using a cd lens cleaner
it should owrk fine
if doesn't then that is all the life of ur cd player.

the problem may be with your headphones and not th cd player. try using a different headphone and see if the problem persist.

i think it is the head phones get NEW HEAD PHONES and see if that is the problem.
