Not a bad idea but a tad expensive. Why not just a plane ticket and no forwarding address?

Yes and No

Think about all these things:

1) Can you afford it
2) Do you have a lot of friends - where will they sit
3) Do you plan on having kids anytime soon
4) Do you or your soon to be spouce already have a larger car

I say if you are fairly well off, discuss it first then make your purchase.

If you currently struggle a little, I would say no becuase a married couple needs to go out and have fun and enjoy each others company and save every dime they have for a house.

Congrats to you!

I don't see how one affects the other unless buying the car will take away funds for the wedding.

So the wedding isn't going to be expensive enough...? Seriously, unless you don't have a car, or the one you have is dead - you might want to hang onto that money!

Oh no! Don't buy anything on YOUR credit! Wait until the day AFTER the marriage to buy anything expensive. That way you can divorce for it.

Discuss it first before you buy. Joint decisions now that you're going to be married.
