Define oppress and what people are you talking about?

If you don't want to appear anti-semetic or abusive you should be more specific in your question.

I'm just surprised that they didn't blame it all on us. (blacks.)

No, seriously people like to blame their problems on others. Exactly how Jews became the scapegoats is probably because they've always been the minority as well as different. Jews were worshiping one God while everybody else was still worshiping many. The majority likes to pick on the minority. Especially if they're considered different.

It could also have to do with resentment with banking practices. I learned in class that (back in the days of Voltaire) a lot of people blamed Jews because Jews owned banks and charged fees and stuff. I DON'T KNOW HOW TRUE THAT IS, but that's what I heard in class.

I wish I could have been more knowledgeable.

If the Jewish people was the only one that ever used the notion of scapegoating, I would call this ironic.
But scapegoating is a universal behavior-
and yet the Jews have become the universal victim.
Now, I know some would even agree that martyrdom is an unattractive part of their own culture...
but it is nonetheless true.

Thing is, they haven't done that kinda stuff. People blame them for everything....and that's why many people believe they are a threat to the world.

I am only saying this by way of playing devil's advocate:
How could the Nazis have caused so much problem when they were technically so few people?

It is something that racist say to put blame on someone for the reason that their lives are so bad.
