Really boring books, almost no plot.

All the other people dislike her because she recycles her plots. Well, newsflash, (and I only know this because I read a lot), that's what every writer does. There is no such thing as an orginal plot; it's all been done before.
I don't hate Danielle Steele. I just hate her books. Come to think of it, I hate chick lit in general. I have sampled it, so I can say that with conviction. There is no accounting for taste.

As everyone else said, she tends to use the same plot time and again. Forty-something hottie suddenly gets divorced, meets gorgeous rich man who loves her kids, they fall in love and have the world's most amazing sex, etc.
She has written one really good book with a different plot. It's called the Promise, and it's the only book of hers that I really enjoyed.

I don't know her personally so I might like her but I don't care for her books.
Her books consistently have a slow, mushy, and drab plot line.
Even for a quick beach read, I don't enjoy Steel!

Because her books are formulaic--they're the same story over and over again. No one wants to read the same thing 30 times.

everyone seems to hate her coz theres a typical dramatic filmy situation in her novels...a perfect family(atleast our hero/heroine of the family thinks that), then THE ACCIDENT( with hero/heroine), then the happy ending!!
most of the ppl dont like fairy tale endings, reality does matter sometimes!!

I used to read her books and loved them, however when I read her biography, little by little noticed that she used her kids', ex-husbands', friends' names to write her stories and it seems to be the same story over and over!!!

Most of them are boring. I can't stand watching their movies either! My mom watches, reads, she likes her but I don't... I managed to watch (well forced to watch) one movie of hers entirely -which I can't remember now- and liked it at the end. but till the end its like torture...
