If a pregnancy test is expired does it affect the reading? It expired on the 9th month of last year...

I'm only 19 and it said negative...but I haven't had my period in over a month, and I'm praying I'm not pregnant!

It might. The chemicals probably won't react properly anymore.
Just go buy another test.

If you want an accurate answer, I would suggest just buying a new pregnancy test.
Also, you can buy a pregnancy test at discount stores, you don't have to buy those fancy E.P.T. tests. All pregnancy tests test for the same hormone that tells you that you are pregnant.
Again, if you're looking for an inexpensive way to go, go to the health department if you need to make sure you're not pregnant and can't afford a GYN, trust me, I know how it feels to be broke and worried! :)
Good luck!

Expired pregnancy test does not give out positive readings so you need purchase a new one, preferable a digital one that is 99.9% accurate.

I would take it back and complain to the store where you bought it from. It probably isn't any good.
To be safe - either get a new one or go to your doctor.
