Some how I doubt you are as fat as you are claiming. We are always harshest on ourselves and usually have the most severe opinions. As for dresses; A-line, bias and full skirts accentuate the waist, creating the illusion of an hourglass form. An empire waist also works good for this body type, as it flows over rather then clings, just don't get an overly billow-y dress. For a skirt a strong waist band with minimal detailing and a flared skirt balances a bigger midsection out. An A-line flatters everyone so for a practical skirt look for this. Also draw the eyes upward with a nice detail on the shirt, or light pattern to take the focus off your problem areas. I also included some image example of things too look for:

(a nice sundress, in a darker tone that camoflages a tummy)

(believe it or not the pattern with the downward angled stripe is very slimming!)

(a long sleeve is more conservative but the length is still yourthful and fun)

(not sure of whre you work, but possibly something like this works witha blazer for an office or with a great cap sleeved sweater for breakfast on the weekends)

(again same as above just switch the tops and you can go from work to weekend)
http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=224740&CategoryID=132
(a light patterned skirt, popular for spring and summer)

(another nice spring/summer skirt)

As for shoes you don't have to wear heels to look feminine. Start with a great pedicure then look for great flat embellished sandals and flats:

Good luck hope this helps!

First of all, I want to say fat is such a horrible word to use. You say you dress girly & it sounds like you take care of yourself, so I'm sure no one looks at you & thinks you are fat. It's all about the way you carry & present yourself & it sounds like you do this well. Don't be so hard on yourself! Some recommendations for dresses may be something that is more fitting around the chest area & looser in the midsection. That's actually the style right now, so you shouldn't have a problem finding one. By getting something more fitted around the chest, it takes attention off the midsection. There are also tons of shirts like this, if you wanted to wear a skirt or shorts instead of a dress. Also, black is very slimming, definitely one of my favorites. Of course you can't wear black every day, but on occasion it can definitely make you have a slimmer appearance. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Empire waist dresses!!!! They work wonders for us girls with a little extra in the midsection. Also i would recommend A-line skirts to balance out everything. Make sure the skirt isn't too tight b/c that could make you look heavier than you are. Try a couple different stores to find something, but the new old navy commercials have some great dresses it looks like. Have fun shopping and good luck!

Empire waist dresses would look best on you from what you have said. The waist will be just under your bust and then the dress falls loosely from there. This style is also very comfortable and you can wear flats or heels. They come in short and long lengths. I think dresses are more flattering than skirts unless you are very skinny.

Try a dress with an empire waist. It'll hide the middle, and look really cute. These can be very casual to very dressy. Try looking at Forever21. They have tons of cute dresses like this. Go to www.forever21.com
