is there such a thing as a new car having a different coating made for warmer states ?

I know it sounds silly -- but is there any validity ? I bought a car that was sold in Florida and I live in nyc..

We've made trucks for Canada, Texas, Saudi Arabia, Germany, and a bunch of other countries and they are all the same, with the exception of a little trim.

i think they are all made the same but i know you can go to a dealer and request they put some kind of extra coating on the underside for more winter regions so the salt won't rust them out.
