I walked up to a lady and gave her a hug from behind because I thought she was my mom! I was so embarrased! ; )

Yeah yesterday, I was driving down the road by my house. I saw a really tall black Explorer and I though it was one of my wife's good friends. I swerved into her lane and honked my horn at the same time. I looked t the driver and I saw a lady I didn't know with a look on her face like she was scared to death. I then realized that it was not my wife's friend. I felt like such an a$$. That lady probably thought I was drunk or crazy. lol

Yes... you can turn it from a bad situation into a good one by making it all a joke and laughing with the person saying how you now feel foolish. They probably don't want you to feel bad so they'll be nice to you and you might make a new friend. Assuming they didn't wig out in the first place.

Yes. I knew and was friends with this guy where my dad worked. As I was coming out of the store I saw him and started talking to him. He looked at me like I was a total stranger, and I was. It was the guys twin brother I was talking too not him.

lol...I've done that one time on a date
I thought that our waitress was a women I went to highschool with because she looked just like her
She didn't even bother to tell me she didn't know me (probably because she thought she'd get a bigger tip that way) She went along with the whole thing and at the end of the meal and my date and I were leaving I noticed that even though she looked like her, it wasn't. But I felt embarrased enough as it was so I didn't tell my date about the mistake cause I didn't want him making me feel worse and laughing at me.

Yes, I sort of tail off my wave when I notice its not the person I thought it was, and then I start itching my head like that was what I was doing to begin with

Yes, extremely embarrassing. I once went up to a man who I thought was my b/f and when I got closer I realized it wasn't him. Almost gave him a hug too! lol. I was at the swimming pool and didn't have my glasses on. Boy was this guy happy. And afterwards, he kept staring at me and smiling at me. My b/f told me. I think they both had a good laugh!

Yes! Once I took a long bus ride (72) hours, during that time I made acquaintances with several of my fellow riders...we handed out phone numbers etc.
About a week later this girl calls and I answered, she says, "Hi, blah, blah how are you...." we talked for 15 minutes before either of us realized it was a complete wrong number and we had never met..... [red-faced totally].
good luck & bless

Yes! embarassing!
But the worst is going up to someone that you knew from way back and you remembered their name as something else!
I could swear that one of the people that I ran into was named Kathy or something, so I asked "is your name___?" And she said no, it's Amy. Boy did I feel stupid!

haha...yeah. One time I was in WalMart and I could have sworn I saw my boyfriend walking around (but I only saw him from behind) and I went up and gave him a hug from behind and the guy turned around and said "Can I help you...?" I was so embarrassed...that guy was a complete stranger and I felt like an idiot.
