Well I think it's obvious that some of the pressure is off, but to say that he's completely off the hook is way off. He won it, now the Colts have to defend it and follow up with another good season (Which means NOT giving up 375 rushing yards to Jacksonville in one game, which isn't Manning's fault, but people always blame the QB for team failure.) I think he'll still play hard, why would he not? If anything he'll play calmer and more focused...scarey thought. By the end of his career, he's got a chance to break records in completions, rating, yards, TDs, and consecutive starts (provided he continues to be healthy). While I greatly respect the guys talent, I still have to say I'd trust Brady as my QB before Manning still, and I'm not really sure why that is, but it's probably the fact that he has three rings and perpetual playoff success. None the less, Manning will continue being a great QB.

I believe Peyton will continue to play as he always has and I agree with most that he will perhaps play better. He is a student of the game, never looking at stats but instead concentrating on the next game or the next series. He is an outstanding player and will definitely be one of the greats no matter how many rings he has. I mean come on Marino doesn't have any, Peyton's one step up already.

Peyton Mannings has and will continue to play to win games - not to break records. He has never been 1 to brag about individual accomplishments. Now he has a taste of winning. The only record he wants is the most rings on those hands of the "QB with a laser-rocker arm."

Does anyone HONESTLY think he played solely for the ring?? The man is a great competitor period.. He strives to be the best and then some, he studies every aspect of the game and is simply amazing.. Come on people enough on the ring! He strives to be the best and that drive will never stop until his abilites begin to fade, and even then he'll be trying to find a way to get better..

I think he will still play like he always has over the years. By the way, I found out today that Peyton will be the grand marshal at the Indianapolis 500 in May.

I think Peyton will continue to play at the high level he has been. He knows no other way. Having a Super bowl ring only adds to his accomplishments. I don't think he will put it on "cruise control" now. He seems like a true competitor who is always trying to stay one step ahead of the competition. You can see the wheels turning in his head every time he is on the field.

His monkey will be back forever, till he retires. He has won a SB now so his mindset is probobly, "Oh I won a super bowl so I am fine". Peyton is very overrated and will not win another Super Bowl.
Tom Brady is the new #1. He has Donte Stallworth, Kelly Washington, and Wes Welker on his reciving corps now. The Pats dynasty will be reborn. Tom Brady by the way is very underrated.

Payton has already passed his prime.. he broke the TD record for a year and won his only ring he'll ever get... Harrison is getting old and they are going to need another wide out to join Wayne... In a few more years he'll be like Favre... nobody else will be good on his offense and he'll be old but keep on playing when he should retire

He's not going to slack off. He's too much of a workhorse to do that. He said after the Super Bowl that he vows to be a better QB and if he says it, he means it. And the records, they probably just come to him, he doesn't actually try for them....when you're that good, records fall.

I dont know... He probably wont put all that stress on himself. His dad pressured him alot. Thats what kept Eli away from the Chargers. To bad for him! Well I think Peyton will have to live up to that potential from his coach now. Not just his dad.
