do you usually get your way by being aggressive,
pushy, coercive, decietful, and tactless? I think
this must be an old-skool question.

A lot of people think you have to be that way to succeed, but the truth is, this approach leads to failure just as often.

Success comes from doing the hard things to persist in the face of adversity. The greater your goal, the harder it will be to achieve. There WILL be challenges, so you'll need courage, patience, persistence, effort, composure, creativity, judgment, and so forth. Also, knowledge, skill and motivation are essential.

I guess this must depend on the circles you mix in - as to how well things work.

I am guessing a successful car salesman and a successful drug dealer perhaps use different tactics than a successful artist / designer etc.

I make most of my money from running naughty phone lines and playing with property - but I don't think I have needed to deceive anyone, my deals are usually done with smiles all around and I'm about as far from aggressive as you can get.

I reckon it must depend a little on what you do for a living.

Being all of the above, and whatever is needed to get things done, is how I and most everyone succeed.
