Green Day, been around longer, have grown and developed more as artists, more poignant themes in their songs and lyrics, better live act (seen 'em both) and for me personally, filled a space in my life when I was 16 and needed an album to personify my teen years (and that album was Dookie)
That's not to say Blink are bad though!

depends on age, Green Day goes alot farther back than blink. For the Poppy kids go with Blink 182(mostly people who have both there parents and a good and stable living life)
and the people with depth and a story behind life and reasoning as to why this world is wrong in so many ways.... Green day... Punk kids will stick by green day, and should, they are better, with more substance and feeling behind the music

Well, as much as Green Day is awesome...for this question I have to go with Blink 182 because I miss them so much as a band and I have to support them. They ROCKED!!! But, Green Day ROCKS too!!! They both have their share of amazing and awesome songs!!!

Without and doubt, Green Day are the better! Blink 182 have copied many of Green Day's Sounds and bass lines. And green day have definitely got the better lyrics! I mean just compare - Whatsername and What's my age again?

Blink 182 were awesome but I think Green Day are much better, especially their older stuff!!!

people see these two bands as being very similar, when they rnt, green day were very underground and came a completely different background to blink, greenday write songs about it to i.e "welcome to paradise" about where billie joe grew up, blink 182 write songs about girls and break ups, that being said they did both get noticed around the same time, and both being 3 piece bands people were like wow they r the same, green day were a more raw punk rock band much like operation ivy, blink 182 were pop, but anyway i like them both but in the end i think green day, they have completely evolved in the last few years and created something big and blink have not basically, billie joe is the unofficial spokesman for the young generation. good listening..Chesire Cat - blink 182, Dookie - Green Day, American Idiot - Green Day, Kerplunk and Insomnica both from green day
