It appears that every time the government comes up with a bold plan to waste even more taxpayers money they seem to 'under estimate' the amount of money and time needed.
NHS computer..6billion pounds and 3 years...now its 20 billion pounds and 6 years..
ID Card data base..god knows how much that is going to cost now ,after they put in a low figure.
Now its the Olympic Games...from 2.4 Billion to over 9 Billion.
Are the government really THAT incompetent or they pulling a fast one to get the plans approved..then , suddenly, ooops, wrong numbers.???

Probably has to do with the contractors putting in low tenders to secure the job. Only after commencement is the true cost revealed. However, you'd think that by now someone would have twigged. And how is it that for the Olympics estimates there were no contingency funds or VAT payment allowances which together now amount to over £2bn!

Government isn't s business where managers have to make the correct decisions or the company will go bust. It is instead a hugely complicated bureaucracy where nobody takes responsibility because you can always point the finger at another dozen people who should of checked your work. There is an endless supply of cash as well.

If the same thing happened within an ordinary company, heads would roll if there was miscalculation with finances or budget. They go bust. But because this is the government and they're dealing with not theirs but ordinary, hard working tax payers money, its doesn't matter one bit how much money is wasted. They dont give a toss. If they want more they tax more.

One would assume that an infatuation with Marxist economics would naturally lead to numeric illiteracy.
Thus, the Blair dictatorship is based on Socialist Marxist ideology and applies such principles even to economics.
Why we British don't revolt and violently overthrow our Oppressors (face it we're really being shafted) I have no idea?
We need a new Cromwell...
