Well, we dont really know where Snape's loyalties lie untill the 7th book. I say he's still good and him and Dumbledore arranged it. Dumbledore thought that Snape alive and trusted by Voldemort would be more important to the Order of the Phoenix than Dumbledore weak and possably a captive. So he told Snape that if it came down to it he had to kill him. Remember that argument Hagrid overheard between Snape and DD? And its not like Snape had much of a choice. He made the unbreadable vow to Narcissa Malfoy that he would protect Draco and kill Dumbledore if Draco can't. I think he really didnt want to kill Dumbledore but he had no choice. SNAPE IS GOOD!!!!!

If you want to know the ending of the 6th book, it makes you think Snape is bad and that Dumbledore is dead. After I got done reading it I got on to Yahoo Answers and several people were saying that in the end they think Snape will somehow save Harry and that he really isn't bad. It would be great, in my opinion, if Dumbledore wasn't really dead, but, I'm sure he is. As far as the actor that plays Dumbledore, the original actor Richard Harris played him in the first 2 movies, since then it has been Michael Gambon and I've never heard of him being Richard Harris's brother ...

Dumbledore is dead. This is not Star Trek where characters can be resurrected. If J. K. Rowling was even thinking of doing that, she'd probably bring back Sirius Black, not Dumbledore, because we don't have the body.
Snape is a very well fleshed out character. Like most real people, he has done bad things and he has done good things. He is neither good nor evil which makes him a hell of a lot more interesting.
We'll just have to wait to see which way he jumps in the final chapter.

I'll tell you if no one else will... or just read the last chapter of the book. No, no look at the last chapter's intro picture and you tell me. (harry potter and the half blood prince)... ;) well then snape is still mysterious. I say that for this... he hesitated to do the job. there is an eye connection as thought they both [D and snape] have an understanding... this July the next book comes out! hurry up and reserve a copy!!!

i think in general snape is a good guy, he just gets the wrong impression. if you mean the actor of dumbledore, no. he is not alive, they had to use is brother in his place, but as dumbledore in the movie, yes, he is alive.
