Why is it that your team score loads of goals, but also concede loads of goals? There have been 83 goals scored in your league games which is the 2nd most in the league.

Is it down to defenders or is it down to midfielders not tracking back? I watch Spurs loads on TV, but would like people who regularly go to the lane to answer me please.

I asked one of my Spurs mate's this question on Saturday night, but I was too pissd to remember what he said.

By the way I think Berbatov & Lennon are absolute quality players.

Answerers 3-5 thanks for your answers. I don't know why the other two went blah blah for either. Boro were scoring & conceding loads last season as well.
Will be back on Monday to give best answer. Good weekend.

Its a good question so all these spurs fans blah blahing is a mystery to me.. The way i see it is this we have a great attack and attacking midfield. We score a lot of goals, i beleive that we concede such a lot is due to never having a set due at the back.. Dawson has been awesome and has not put a foot wrong.. ObviouslyLedley is amazin and when those two are together for a long period of time they are one of the best duo's in the prem. Our new signing Rocha is also great and gardner can be good from time to time... The fact that it is awlays being changed is the biggest problem. Unfortunatly this is not through choice but through injury... as soon as two are fit together it will get a lot better, wether it be king or rocha. because we also have chimbonda who is a solid defender... think another thing we lack is being able to hold teams when we have a strong lead as a spurs fan i feel it is better for us to be drawing or even 1-0 down as we fight for 90 minutes and usually prevail. look at chelsea at the begining of the season.... we need to realise that no matter the score we always need to push.....

Sorry for the long answer....

I think there are a couple of reasons.

For one I would say it is the defence. Paul Robinson isn't playing as well as he did last season. Our left back Assou-Ekotto hasn't been great. Ledley King has been injured for most of the season so Michael Dawson hasn't got a defensive partner he can trust. Rocha looks decent but has only just joined.

Secondly some of leakage of goals have come when some influential players come off the field. I have noticed on some occasions that when Berbatov is substituted the ball is not held up as much or we lose the ball without one of our players getting it. This obviously means that the other team can attack and can catch us off guard.

To be honest Ledley King is wicked with Michael Dawson, So King has made a hole in our defence. But we do have chimbonda, lee and stalteri. I did rate stalteri, but yesterday he didnt play that well, same as a few other games. We do have younger players that need the experience in the 1st team so thats probably why we are letting in goals so much. What a game last night though. I felt sorry for Huddleston though, i knew what he was tryin to do and it backfired. I agree with you on Berbatov and Lennon.

We gonna win the UEFA.

berbs and lennon are amazing for us this season and so is keane and dawson but theres an almighty hole left by king and as a couple of others have said theres youngsters coming in with so many games in so many days all of our squad is being used to full capacity at the moment.
our left side has been weak for a long time and i dont rate assoko but when lee has played there it looks a shade better.
bloody exciting and i hope all those asking for big martys head can hang theyre head in shame with the form were showing!! long live big marty. coys!!!!!

robbo played too good last year and noone can keep up that kind or performance. ledley king is desperately missed. we sold davenport to the hammers. chimbo and lee attack more which is good but leaves us vulnerable. Gardner needs regular games. Rocha is too new. we crumble at set pieces but strikers and midfield do track back.

blah blah blah we'd be great if king wasn't injured blah blah blah
the reason is that we are just useless so we concede loads of goals. we are an embarrassment and got mugged off last night when arsenal's youth team drew a bigger crowd than our biggest european game in the last god knows how many years.
