First of all, it is not always the case that women have difficulty losing weight after childbirth.

Sometimes, women are less inclined to be as busy as they were before a child is born .... but if you do not feel ill, you may resume your normal activities "as tolerated" ...sometimes also a woman feels a little stress from having carried a child, so to eat one small wholesome snack a day is not a bad idea ... a few nuts, or a cracker and some cheese dip and some carrot sticks ..

If you continue to have difficulty with your weight, you could try to go on a fruit fast for the whole day once in a while ...just have nice, fresh ripe fruits and water .... an orange now, then a pear a hour or so later ...... and maybe some plain tea to balance it out, and a vitamin pill ... there should be no trouble with that!!!

Cheers!

It's "lose" (loose is what you want your pants to be when the pounds come off) and hormone changes can definitely affect our weight and our ability to lose it.

Ya may just have to work harder than previously at losing, and accept that you can no longer eat absolutely anything (few people can) without repercussions.

Eat a healthy, well-balanced diet and save the "junk food" for occasional treats. Exercise 5 days a week and shoot for an hour (doesn't have to be all at one time), and in time the weight will come off and then you can drop your workouts to say 3 days a week to maintain, as long as you keep up your good eating habits.

Good luck!

IT has everything to do with your hormones and the effect that they have on your metabolism. I became pregnant at the end of 2004 and had my baby in May. It wasn't until the beginning of 2006 that i finally got rid of all the weight i wanted to. Afer your baby is born it seems like your metabolism takes one heck of a nose dive. Thats why the weight that you gain is so hard to come off. So really you need to jump start your metabolism back up. Exercising really helps out and so does maybe trying something like vitamin B6 which helps with energy and your metabolism. It is a lot harder to loose pregnancy weight but it is not impossible. Good Luck!

It's the hormones, but breastfeeding helps A LOT. I breastfed my daughter and before I even left the hospital, my pregnancy weight was gone and I weighed exactly what I did when I got pregnant. In the months that followed, I lost even more weight, which was good because I was a bit overweight when I got pregnant, even though I didn't change my eating habits. Breastfeeding burns tons of calories. Also, pregnancy changes your body in lots of ways. After I had my daughter, I began to like some foods I couldn't stand before I got pregnant and conversely, some things I used to like didn't taste good to me any more. I have also heard about women who said their hair went from straight to curly or vice-versa after a pregnancy.

There are things - like hormones - that you cannot really control, they need time to bounce back to normal after pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding. What you can control is your diet and exercise. If you eat a balanced healthy diet and regularly do your crunches, you'll soon see results. And if you continue, it'll just get better and better.

Another thing, you don't mention how old you are, until recently I used to be able to eat anything and remain skinny, well, I'm approaching 35 now and I really cannot afford it anymore, I have to watch what I'm eating. I'm, however, in a better shape now than when I was younger and carefree. I take better care of myself to be strong for my two kids. So, I guess there're benefits to getting older :-)

Wish I could help you. My babe only 6 months but have starved myself by eating only nimble bread, diet cupa soups and friut and walking 5 miles a day and am still a size 14 when i used to be a 10. I think your whole frame gets bigger to accomodate baba.. My bf has had four kids and she reckons she has gone up a dress size with each of them. Those celebs who shrink back to normal size right away are freaks who probably starved themselves when pregnant!! Good luck anyway..
