What's there to buy?
Four reasons for Africa's backwardness
The neglected private sector: The biggest error in developmental aid by the western donor countries is to ignore the principles of their own private economies. The integration of the private sector into the developmental co-operation can only release Black Africa from its despairing economical situation. Without this integration the international programs of structural adjustment will stay ineffective.
Africa is not an innocent victim: Africa is not innocent on its economical poverty. As long as the Black continent refuses to take any self-responsibility and Africans like to play the part that they are innocent victims of International Monetary Fond, World Bank, colonialism and neo-colonialism, the undignified and fateful state of dependence upon foreign aid will continue. Because of this attitude, developmental aid is on the way to wilt to a gesture of charity.
Corruption: Corruption destroys every year an enormous amount of productive assets. In Africa nothing is going on without a bribe ! The international Community of donor countries failed to stigmatised and to combat corruption. Why should it not be possible to impose anti-corruption rules to every project financing ??
A low education level: The extremely low education level is one of the main reasons for economical and social poverty in Africa and also for the environmental degradation. The donor Countries are jointly responsible to this negative trend since high quality professional training programs are mainly carried out by themselves so that a self-reliant African training establishment cannot arise.

I've been there to get educated on the culture, to work for Red Cross, and to get first-hand experience of the Motherland. I have never been there solely to shop.
