Usually a desktop computer is a better choice for home usage but you can only keep it in one place within the home. If you're a computer geek like me, then you might want a laptop computer. I take my laptop with me when I go to school and on trips. Also, I can have my laptop anywhere in my home, unlike a desktop. Laptops are just as good as desktops, except in gaming, but laptops are definitely more expensive. The choice is your choice alone.

It really depends.

If you just want to sit at a desk, and use the computer - then go wtih the desktop, they are cheaper, and generally more reliable, though they take up more space.

If you want to be able to sit wherever you want in your house and use it (you can set up wireless really cheap and be connected wherever you go in the house) then get the laptop - but you might still want to get a bigger monitor, keyboard and mouse so when you are sitting at your desk you can have all the benefits of a desktop computer.

Besides wandering around your house, the laptop can also connect at 'wifi hotspots' that a lot of restaraunts and coffee shops are providing free.

it depends on a few things like, what you are planning on using the computer for, if you have a desk or office, how much you value mobility, if you want to spend a little extra on a wireless router for internet access, etc...

generally if you get a cheap laptop, its not the same as a desktop. the cheaper ones are definitely not desktop replacements. There are models, however that are very powerful.

I have both at home. The tower is in the corner, very powerful and fast, large 19" screen, and hasn't been turned on in months!

I use the wireless laptop throughout the house all the time, just more convenient. Right now I'm near the pool.

I think laptops are better for everything except gaming. They are smaller..and can do anything a desktop can. Plus easier to move. However the parts are more expensive...and the computer is more expensive usually.

Deskstops can have better monitors and cheaper 3d cards. If you want to use it to play video games, or are on a budget, get a desktop...imho

It really depends on your use of it.
A laptop is better for using at home and then being able to take it to the office or school.
If you just work at home on the computer, a desktop can hold much more and is cheaper to buy.

hi, i might advise a private pc for the reason that u point out u will play video games to boot. there is no relaxing taking part in video games on a laptop and laptop's are not as useful as a private pc. pc desktops are extra useful, extra low fee, u can do all ur college artwork on them, surf the internet, and play some marvelous video games. good success!

Desktop, definately because it has much more space and is more reliable than a laptop. but if you ever get tired of being in one place all the time, then you can geta laptop and you can go wherever you need to with it by your side.
