At one month old, the embryo is 10,000 times larger than the original fertilized egg and is developing rapidly. The heart is pumping increasing amounts of blood.
Please note that by day 21 the baby's heartbeat has begun. at day 28 the backbone and muscles are forming....Arms, legs, eyes and ears have begun to show.......
so it is more than just a speck!!!

Like a little bean. sort of like a cross between a kidney bean and a black eyed pea. It's like a little dot within a slightly bigger almost kidney shaped dot. It's how my baby got his nickname, "Bean"-- that's what he looked like in our first sonogram.

There is a great website that shows the growth of the baby weekly...its www.baby2see.com its a free site that you can see how your baby is growing.

like a little grain of rice, you can get books on line and see the stages each month and it is reall neat to see thes.

like a pea, not even a heart beat yet. five weeks starts to develop..... there are many web sites where you can get the actual development week to week.
