I have had breakthrough bleeding since then. What can the problem be? I should be starting my period again within these 3 days.

It is just your body adjusting to the hormones in the birth control pills. You should not be worried about the break-through bleeding, since you have only been taking the pills for a short period of time. However, if you continue to have this bleeding, consult the gynecologist who prescribed you the pills and ask him about it. He may need to prescribe you a different type of birth control pill.
