April 17, 2007. Usually, the filing deadline for a given year is April 15 of the following year, or the next business day if the 15th is on a weekend. The IRS moved the deadline this year to accomodate "Emancipation Day," a new Washington D.C. holiday. Washington D.C. holidays are required to have a nationwide impact, so the rest of us get to share the tax benefits. :-)

Normal filing deadlines are:
March 15 for Corporations
April 17 for Partnerships and Individuals
May 15 for Non-profits
Also, six month automatic extensions are available for FILING your return (not paying the tax due).
And, of course, state filing deadlines vary. Some are the same as federal, a lot a month later.

ok you itemized. Did you itemize the state taxes or take revenues tax? in case you itemize the state taxes then you definately in all probability did get a income from the state earnings tax and the refund desires to be further back. (look at your 2006 tax return. in case you had claimed $3 hundred much less in state earnings taxes, might your tax refund have decreased? confident, then it is taxable.) If it is taxable, wait till closer to 4/15 and record an amended return.

April 15th, except this year it is extended to April 16th or 17th I believe, because the 15th falls on a Sunday, unless you file for an extension.
