If the radio is original equipment call or visit a BMW dealer and they will be happy to provide you with the code as long as you are the owner of the vehicle.

If you want to save some money, pull your radio out until you can see the numbers on the back but you need a small hex or some other special screwdriver, then kinda put it back in place without re-installing and drive it nice and easy to the dealership, ready to write down the numbers then you should get away cheap and fast.
Otherwise, you might be there all day and it will cost you.

U must take the car to a BMW dealer, the will check the chassis number and the owner`s identity on the computer system and then they will give you the code. One of my friends had a E36 318is and he had to do that. THEY DO NOT GIVE IT OVER THE PHONE. We tried you must take the car to them.
