I am sure there are people out there that feel as you. I am not one of them. It was supposedly taking place during the Korean War...but was really (wink, wink) aired at the height of the VietNam war. Everybody knew it was aimed at the insanity of that war and why we stayed so long . It was very anti-ANY war. You think it's outdated? One could look at MASH, forget about it taking place in Korea or even relating to VietNam, and apply it to Iraq. Is anti-war ever outdated?
The first three or four seasons, before Henry Blake was killed off, were by far the best and funniest. Even after all these years, I still laugh. MASH is a classic. I'll watch it whenever it's on.

Most programmes that are 30 years old look dated. The jokes etc are all current for their time - it is about the Vietnam War. A lot of the ideas have been nicked by other writers since the show ended and, as such, seem very familiar. The show was incredibly controversial at the time - as was the film.

Was it not about Vietnam?

I haven't seen MASH for a long long time but I love it. Yes sure the jokes will wear thin after repeated viewing but it's a classic.

Well, it WAS written about the Korean war, so I guess it IS somewhat dated. It's still considered a "classic", however. Laurel & Hardy, or The Three Stooges are classices, but are dated, as well.

If you're bored with it, stop watching it.

Well, it is 25 odd years old. It would be incredibly surprising if it wasn't dated by now! I still love MASH, maybe you've watched it too much?

Worth watching the first 5 mins for the theme tune ... but otherwise, yes, it is dated .... on same hand it is old now.

Maybe you should stop watching it?

The fact it's like 30 years old might be why it's dated...

Sadly, yes - but in it's time it was absolutely fantastic, and Alan Alda's acting still knocks me out.
