I'd go with the Unofficial book -- the information will be just as up-to-date, but will also include some tips and tricks that the Official book probably won't include, like other things to do in the area, etc.
Enjoy your trip!

I love my unofficial guide by Birnbaum, that is my bible whenever I am planning a Disney World trip. I have just recently bought the unofficial guide for kids, made by kids which is from the same author. We will be taking both of these books with us, wherever we go, on our upcoming trip in June.
Also the Birnbaum guide is great because they have coupons in the back of the book for different places in Disney.

The Unofficial Guide is the best by far. You will find details and ratings on every Disney ride/attraction,restaurant and hotels and for many places off property including Universal .
You'll also find Park touring plans, crowd prediction calendars (very accurate) , Attraction fright factor for the kiddies, and tons of money and time saving tips.
I think my favorite part of the Unofficial Guide is that your getting "real" unbiased information and not just what Disney wants you to know.

Every time I go, I pick up the Birnbaum's Official guide to WDW. I also get the Birbaum's for kids by kids guide. I tried the other books, but felt I got more info and more accurate info from Birnbaum's.

I prefer the unofficial guide. It has tricks like how parents should stand in line for the Dumbo ride.

I like the Unofficial version. Because it has tips & other things besides just the basic facts. It has real reader comments & experience from people who have been there before. Hope that helps. Good luck! :)
