I don't know. I think associating homosexuals with the French is insulting, cruel and vulgar ... to the homosexuals!

Hello there. I see you have had a lot of "bandalist's" answers so I'll try to give a more proper one.

Well, you see, homosexual haters associate them with their excessive care for cosmetising themselves, proper style, usage of all colours, unusual voice and so on.

French men are quite metrosexual and are not afraid to take care of their looks by using a bit of colour.

Their accent is quite girly when you are an english speaker, so I guess that's why they have been connected to it.

Another opinion might be that french people are very open-minded about the rights of humans. So they are pretty friendly to all kinds of people. That's a good thing.

But when you support gay people then you become an enemy of the gay haters and get connected with homosexuality yourself.

PS: My current avatar image shows me in a pink shirt and green shades. But I'm not gay! Ok? Thanks. Hehe.

I always thought it was associated with the Greeks... They were known for their sexual exploits.

The French I would say because of King Louie XIV and his foo-foo ways which migrated into the french culture...
