Rule of thumb, always dress 1 level up from what you will be expected to wear to work. If you are working in a place that requires uniforms, where nice pants and button up shirt/blouse. Good luck! The most important aspect of an interview is the handshake, the eye contact and the personality.

i also say first impressions count and would wear a suit however my yougner sister once told me that for her interview for faith (abd other retail stores) she visits a few days before sees what the staff wear and finds something similar.
also depending on the role and if you're a mature woman, i recommend a suit. you don't want to go in trying to look like a teenager... always better to look professional
she's had a few jobs in the retail sector unlike me... i only had 1 interview and wore a suit and didn't get the job (i was 17/18 back then)... lol
what ever you do dress age appropriate and in suitable clothing for the role you are being interview and NEVER underdress
it may not be an office job but you still need to make a good professional statement. the first impression is made in the first few seconds of meeting someene

Depends if you are male or female. If female then a smart skirt and a nice blouse. What you will find suitable to wear when you have the job you can decide later but for the interview a blouse and skirt with a jacket will show you can be smart yet not over-fashionable. If a male then go for slacks and a shirt, not a suit.

Depends on your style and it's also best not to wear something too wacky (if that's your style). It's best to tone it down, so they don't judge you before they know you.
What about really nice/smart trousers with a tidy looking jumper (nothing out of shape or ); or a linen suit/just the trousers; or a more casual jacket (looks like a suit jacket, but isn't - they're in all the shops at the moment in primary colours with big buttons).
That's the type of thing I'd go for. Hope it helps.

you can't go wrong with black slacks flat shoes and tucked in polo shirt or white or other simple color button down.
However, you can carry a matching blazer in the car so if you see people going in or out dressed up a bit more, you have that to add to it.
keep accessories at a low, and perfume very very low, the sent of clean is better than flowers.
your purse should only have what you need a pen, pencial calculator and id, you don't want to carry a big bag and dump all your stuff out to find a pen.
Good luck on your interview.

why not dress in a suit or at least a shirt and trousers. Ive worked in places where you just wear a t shirt but that is more to do with the role itself, you still need to make an effort to show them how you can dress to impress.

A casual shirt/blouse with smart trousers/shirt shows that you have made an effort without trying too hard as if to over-compensate for something else.
The interviewers will know that a suit isn't your normal every day attire, so no point wearing one.
After all they're looking for someone who will fit in.

well... i've been in a class for the past two years that teach us about how to dress and remumes and other stuff. even if its not an office job u still need to dress nice. dont wear anything with jeans. u want to dress to impress. look profesional, wear some slacks or black pants. nice shirt, and some jewerly. show them why they want to see you at work everday. but dont wear anything too reviling. Good Luck!

Dress neatly, simply, and comfortably. If you already have an idea of how your potential coworkers dress for work, keep that in mind and dress one notch above that! Good luck on your interview, hopefully your interviewer will pay greater attention to what you say than what you wear :o)
