Telling people they have to wear shoes because going barefoot is against Health laws... because that isn't true. It is however a very persistent myth in the US. If people object to bare feet because they just don't like it, well that's their opinion, their right. But don't hide behind non-existent rules and myths! There are no health laws requiring shoes regardless of whether food is served, there are no insurance companies requiring or even recommending footwear for customers, there are no laws requiring footwear when driving. Fortunately I live in Europe where those myths don't exist but lots of my online friends run into this ignorance quite regularly!
