I am 30 weeks pregnant and just found out that my umbilical cord only has two vessels...while the baby heart seems to be perfectly health..I did some research on this and read some very alarming things. My question is has someone else had this and had a healthy baby??? Any feedback is greatly appreciated!!!!

Babies are generally just fine with that. The do tend to be smaller in size though, as they dont get as much nutrients as with 3 vessels. A women at my church had a son with this condition, and he is 3 years old, smart as anything and perfectly normal. He weighed 5 lbs.... Now he is big and fine!!

My daughter is 4 and a a million/2 months previous. We had a 2 vessel cord. No problems in any respect. They did ultrasounds each and every 4 weeks to demonstrate screen develop and on the commencing up of my third trimester all of them started doing non-stress tests to be sure she wasn't in misery. I did see a perionatologist to have a 2nd ultrasound at my docs advice yet that became just to be sure there rather have been basically 2 vessels (that they had extra useful ultrasound kit). the relaxing section became I have been given to have so plenty extra ultrasounds then standard! yet do no longer subject my toddler is suited. She became born at 37 and a a million/2 weeks, weighed 8 lbs,. a million oz..and became 19 inches!

My sister was born with only 2. She is a perfectly healthy adult that never had a single health problem.

Good luck!

My cousin had this and it normally affects the placenta, restricting blood flow and oxygen, which can cause problems ranging from mild learning difficulties to major brain damage. Until the baby is born, and possibly older there really is no way to tell what level of problems, if any, that they might have. My cousin has severe ADHD, but he still graduated from high school and spent several years in the military.
