I wish dems had to ability to actually THINK. Why would they want the war to follow us home? Cuz that's exactly what's going to happen if we leave. If they would have let us fight the war, any means necessary in the beginning....we might not be in Iraq right now. SO...they hold us back, then complain when we're taking forever to get the job done? They can't have it both ways, MORONS!

I disagree with the Democrat's idea to pull out by 2008 also. I think it would have catastophic results if we did that to the Iraqi people. Possibly 2009 or 2010, but I don't think 2008 is reasonable.
They're new found government still does not have absolute control of the country yet, and turning over the keys now is no different than giving it to the religious extremist dictators that give the middle east such a bad stereotype. When the Iraqi government has the power to enforce it's own laws, and maintain order within their own borders, thats when we let them go on their own.

Iraq now is NOT a civil war, it is a war fought by extremist muslim forces that want extremism to win in Iraq over forces of moderation in Iraq and the region, extremist muslim forces that may have an Iraqui face, but whose true heart is oppresion, subjugation, and evil
As for pulling out? Well, think about the last time we did something like that, like in Viet Nam, a war we lost because we fought ourselves instead of fighting together the enemy, and in the end ran like cowards away from there, allowing the commies to take over the country and then the massacres in the country itself ("reeducation camps", concentration camps, etc) and the "Killing Fields" massacre "next door" in Cambodia where 3 million people were killed by the Khmer Rouge.
more info;

So if we pull out of Iraq it won't be the Khmer Rouge doing the killing over there this time but Islamist extremists instead in a bid for power and to crush the population into submission....millions will be killied, it has happened before and history is the witness.
And one more thing, we will look like p*#@ssies! Think about!

If we pull out of Iraq, without enacting a stable government, the country would fall further into chaos and civil war. While I don't think we should have ever attacked in the first place, to pull out abruptly and leave without establishing any type of decent leadership would be detrimental to the US and Iraq.

My opinion is no. I would like to think most people would understand the moral implications of starting a war and not finishing it. Whether you are against the war or not, it's gotta be cleaned up. Either now or years down the line. Might as well do it while we're there.

Although I don't support the war but i do support our troops being a Vet myself, we should pull out of Iraq but would be a mistake, But since we are going to anytime soon, the politicians should let these soldiers do their job, we have experience trained officers who know how to contain the problems going on there, but Washington for appearance sake won't let them. If you are going to occupy a country take a lesson for the Nazi's who occupied all of Europe.

we can't. If we abandon those over there that supported us, it will damage our credibility beyond repair. If we pull out and the radiacl islam element can cliam it as a victory, they will esculate their violent agenda on the rest of the free world, knowing no one, not even the great United States, has the balls or the wherewithal to keep them in check. you would see an esculation of terrorist attacks, not only here, but moreso abroad. In all likelyhood, our children will have to go back to that region someday.
Withdrawal, redeployment is a mistake.

Easy- This is another country's civil war. We cannot win another country's civil war. Neither the Sunnis nor the Shia will institute this glorious Jeffersonian democracy that Cheney envisioned between defibs. It just ain't gonna happen, no matter how many troops we send in there.
We do not send our sons and daughters to die to save face for the president.
If you truly feel that I am wrong, call 1-800-GoArmy and put your $ where your cake-hole is.
