This is for all of you with "Hockey Knowledge",
Colorado’s mathematical possibilities of making the playoffs,
(Not including OT Losses) Colorado WILL make if COLorado and CALgary finish with the following records over the last 12 games of the season:
Col 5-7
Cal 0-12,
Col 6-6
Cal 1-11 or worse,
Col 7-5
Cal 2-10 or worse,
Col 8-4
Cal 3-9 or worse,
Col 9-3
Cal 4-8 or worse
Col 10-2
Cal 5-7 or worse,
Col 11-1
Cal 6-6 or worse,
Col 12-0
Cal 7-5 or worse.
Will any of these mathematical possibilities occur? This supposition only includes Calgary since they are in the 8th slot, Minnesota is 3 points ahead of Calgary.

With their win last night over the Flames I'm not ready yet to count them out. The Avs still have two games left against Calgary and one of them is the last game of the year (which is a make up game from one that was cancelled because of a blizzard). As I type this they sit eight points back of calgary and both teams have 12 games left. Assuming they beat calgary on both of those games they'd be four points back of the Flames.
That means, that other than the two remaining games against the Flames, the Avs have to play well enough to win two games more than the Flames for the remaining games which will be no easy feat.
The chances are slim but they're 6-0-1 in the past 7 games so if they can keep Budaj, Stasny, and Hedjuk playing the way they are right now, they have a chance. And don't forget Sakic, he's kind of the X factor. He's known to step it up to a crazy level during the playoffs but his team has never been in the situation where they might miss the playoffs so he might have a hot streak to end the regular season here.
I'm an Avs fan so I hope yes they will, but they're definitely going to have to fight for it and it looks pretty bleak. No matter who takes that 8th playoff spot, as long as whoever plays them knocks the Wings out in the first round, I'll be happy.

No. The flames are actually a tough team that has stepped it up in the second half of the season. They have their problems, but they will not fold over, nor do I see Colorado playing that well down the stretch.
They will play each other twice before the end of the season and they both have similar schedules. Calgary is a good team with great leadership and I think that they are going to be fighting for 5th place in the standings rather than struggle.

The odds of Calgary finishing worse than 5-7 are very bad. Couple that with the odds of Col finishing 10-2 (much worse).
It's not likely.

You need to concentrate on Vancouver, not Calgary or Minnesota to get in the playoffs. The Avs play the Canucks three times in the next few weeks and the Canucks are starting to choke. They have just one goal in 26 power plays. They just don't have anyone on their team that can score goals. The Sedins are useless. The Avs at the very least will keep the Canucks from winning the NW division.

Well 6 of their last 12 games are against Calgary,Vancouver, and Minnesota. If they can win atleast 5 of these 6 games in regulation, they might have a slim, but possible chance..But my answer is no.

The teams that you mentioned are excellent teams. Both Calgary and Minnesota are not going to choke in these last few weeks,so it looks like Colorado is out of luck this year.

Not a chance. the only way Colarodo is gonna make it is if the flames have a train wreck of their last games. i really dont see that happening. all the flames need to do is win a few and even go to OT and loose just to get a point. i guess we will see though

It is going to be an uphill battle for them to make it, even though I don't think they will.
