a refurbished handset means a handset thats either been sent back for repair and sent back out again and sold as refurbished,or been sent back beacuse a customer has changed their mind. Virgin Megastore sell a handful of handsets which are sold as refurbished, which are normally a lot cheaper than the brand new counterparts. Also sometimes if you buy a brand new handset and it had goes faulty , and has to replaced,it is often replaced by a refurbished handset.
