I don't know about global warming, but the urban heat island effect of denver should increase the city's temperature by 8 degrees F compared to the surrounding country side's.

it's a hell of a lot warmer, and during the winter, it keeps getting hit by huge snow storms, which of course, is never very much (like 6 inches) and close down all the schools. i'm from a small ski town about three hours away, and go there all the time. it's a lot warmer in the winter than it used to be, but still gets colorado weather.
