It's pretty safe so long as you follow the prescribed dose exactly. Never take more though, because weird things will happen. It's basically speed in a low dose. The Patient Info from the FDA is below.

my best friend died in a car accident 2 weeks after starting adderrall.... he was feeling sped up from it. The witnesses say he stopped at the stop sign, but only stopped for a second, then went into the road. He stopped so fast that some corn growing blocked his view of a car, he would have seen it if he stopped for one more second. I blame the fact that he was on adderrol just as much as i blame him for not looking good enough.

Yes.. please talk to your doctor about it. My doctor prescribed my brother on it for about 5 days and then he called us and told us to stop because it is considered a "black box drug". My oldest brother just got out of medical school and someone asked him to prescribe it and he said no. The person ended up going to a different doctor and the other doctor prescribed it and the man was back in the hospital for different things and he was more sick than he was in the beginning. My brothers best friend was put on it and he was not himself at all! So.. he did his research and talked to his doctor and his doctor said thank you for all this info and if we would have kept you on it... you probably wouldn't have stayed this healthy.
Even if you take it properly... it is still considered a "Black Box Drug".
Good Luck!

I don't know of any long term side effects, but it gave me upset stomach, almost every morning. That was enough for me to get off it. I guess it wasn't for me.
