start mixing & slapping it on a test board, write down your mixes... when you get close adjust your mix by small increments (WRITE DOWN EACH MIX - YOU'RE GOING TO WASTE SOME SAND & MORTAR MIX & COLOR - MIX IN INCREMENTS THAT CAN BE REPRODUCED EVEN IF IT'S 2 CUPS AT A TIME), test again against clean old mortar! Have a judging contest on which one matches best!

if you can knock out a pice with some size to it, take it to your masonry supplier , they usually have mortar samples...

They sell color powder for what you're talking about at most home stores (Home depot, etc.)

the color is called buff.its a powder u can add ,red buff,blu buff green buff etc
