Your eyes get weaker with age. Age seems to have that effect on other parts of you as well. The bi-focul glasses just make it easier to read so that you do not get head aches or put too much strain on your eyes by squinting. It also helps you to read as it is so much more enjoyable to be able to see clearly and you do not get tired so quickly. You do not have to concentrate so hard if the writing appears larger and clearer and life was meant to be easier....

No. If you need bi-focals, your eyes are already shot. They just help you see things close up.
