Japan never had a one child policy. You're thinking of China.

No but who else wants to impose a no-child policy on Mommyismyname? This is a question about policies in Japan/ China, not why some deluded Americans love themselves so much.

Japan has never had a one child policy. You are thinking of China. It would be insane for Japan to do that anyway, because they have experienced a declining population since the 1980's. Governmetn policy right now is to encourage couples to have kids earlier and in greater number. I think the average right now is 1.8 children per couple. That's not even at the replacement rate.

Its China that had one but even though it is still official there it is being overlooked now that the economy is growing and incomes in the citys rising,it is a communist policy and the government are too busy making money to worry about things like that anymore.

CHINA still has a 1 child policy. this has resulted in an imbalance of gender in their country, since males are more highly valued. if the ultrasound shows the probability of the child being female, some couples opt to abort until they get a male child. it's truly sick.
