A bank can provide you with a cashier's check but you usually have to be a customer. Costs vary but we charge $3.00. All you do is tell them how much you want it for and they make it out right there. Takes about 30 seconds.

At the bank. We get one free a month having our account at the bank. A cashiers check is like paying cash -- you have to pay cash for the check.

At the bank (and it usually has to be one you have an account at - but depends sometimes). Costs between $5 and $10 in the US. They process it right away. You can bring the money cash or have it witdrawn for your account.
Cheers!
