Are you still acting like you're best friends?
If you're not interested in being friends at all, just let the relationship fade.

Just let her or him keep thinking that..its not like thats gonna hurt you....you are still friends though right? then just act like their friends and nothing else....gosh people take this whole best friend thing seriously....I have like five best friends....it doesn't hurt me having that many....so is it against ur "law" to have a lot of best friends or what?
