how do you make a team?

When you go into melee mode select your players (up to 4) If you are looking for a challenge you can do a 2 on 1 battle. If you want to do a 1 on 1 battle you might as well leave the teams off. Anyway, on the Top-Left corner of the screen you will see "Melee" put your cursor over it and press A it should switch to a red color and say "Team Melee" you can change a players color by preesing A Where the character is and shows the name of the color. With that, the color of the attire of the character also changes. Have Fun.

In Melee mode, at the Character Select screen, there should be a sign at the top left of the screen saying "Versus Melee". Clicking that with your hand cursor should activate "Team Melee". This can be done with most other Melee modes like Giant or Slow Mode.

As for making a team, click the little button that is in the top left corner of a player card (the box that represents the controller slot you are using). This can be done with the computer players as well. There are Red, Green, & Blue teams to use.

On Melee mode, pick all four characters. You'll notice there's a little box in the top left corner. You can use it to change the character's color. Characters of the same color are on the same team.
