put at least 3 more hooded towels on your list. also, you will need at least two sets of 6 washcloths as you will be washing the six you have every two to three days! (we found that out the hard way, they are pretty usefull little things, especially when you get to the solid food feeding stage) register for those cloth diapers and terry cloth burp cloths only, the ones made of cotton knit do not aborb and the spit up will just run right off them. ditto for bibs - must have terry cloth! otherwise food & formula will just run all over the baby's clothes. we went with the diaper champ instead, since it uses regular trash bags instead of the special (and expensive) diaper genie bags, does an excellent job with odors. stoller/car seat combo (travel set) is a must. bassinet, one that can be attached to your bed for a while is recomended (see co-sleepers). bottle warmer if you are going to bottle feed. i wouldn't worry about the bottle sterilizer unless you live in an area that has bad tap water problems (as in filled with bacteria and undrinkable). my pediatrician told me that we live in an area that has very clean tap water, and a good wash with soap and a bottle brush in hot tap water is sufficient. also, if you have a dishwasher, you have a sterilizer already. just get one of the dishwasher baskets for bottles/nipples/accessories. that way you can wash any pacifiers or all plastic toys every now and then as well. go ahead and put some plain white cotton onesies, neutral colored sleepers and side snap t-shirts (you'll need these until the umbilical cord falls off). white is best, because it can be bleached. do yourself a favor - put diapers on your registry! those things are expensive!! wipes too. oh, it sounds stupid, but get a wipe warmer. late night changes can be awful if you have to use a cold wipe...

check out target.com baby registry... they have a list of "must haves." also, go to yahoo health and search baby registry. they have a list of items you probably haven't thought about, such as first aid supplies, grooming kits, etc... and really nice articles to talk you down from any excessive purchasing.

oh! and mazeltov on your happiness!! best of health to you and your new arrival!

Add like 2 more hooded towels, another set of washclothes, bibs (plastic for feeding solids and cloth for drool), Dreft, Hangers, Onesies 0-3, 3-6, 6-9, Socks, Baby spoons, bowls, sippy cups, Wipes, Diapers, Lotions, Tylenol, Bathtub, Brush, clippers.

There are lots of things needed for a baby.

Good Luck

I love this question, I always wanted to help mothers with their registry. More burp cloths (you can't get enough of these and after done with them they make great rags. Bibs (babies drool and spit up alot) Onesies, (they need to be changed alot) How about car seat (infant and toddler), stroller, depending on when you are due you may need a thermal cover for the carseat so as to avoid snow suits etc. I really loved and used my shopping cart cover as those carts are so dirty and babies (once sitting tend to put their hands and mouths on the handle.) Always ask for diapers in various sizes. They grow out of one size so fast that it is nice to have the next size at home available. All the soap, lotion and vaseline that will be necessary, including diaper rash cream. a thermometer (ear, or rectal what ever) do you already have a crib and mattress? Baby swing, bouncy seat, exersaucer???? Changing table? always need covers for the changing table pad. COOL MIST humidifier. lots of socks. You will need nursing pads even if you are not nursing if you milk comes in and until it dries up. teething rings, coated spoons for when they start to eat solids. Think a little in to the future so you are not running out to buy things that are costly and necessary. Good Luck I hope it was helpful.

Get gowns (when you first bring baby home and are just getting used to changing him or her these are amazing), diaper geinie refills, onsies for all sizes, a few pairs of pants, another towel, a baby clothes hamper (something cute), a rug for the room, a blanket that is heaver than recieving, they have the blanket sleeper (so you don't have to cover the baby), Baby wash, lotion, oil (the hospital will tell you no powder because it is not good for the baby's lungs), Hats for the baby (they sell them in packs of 3 and they come with mittens), nail clippers , tweezers, a diaper bag, thermometer, the pacifier medicine dispenser, a medicine droper, tylenol for infants, baby orajel, gas relief drops for babys, diaper rash ointment (I like aveno), diapers of course), a baby bath tub one that converts, a boppy with a couple of covers (my 2 month old loves his) a bouncy seat, and last but not least gift cards... most of this things can be found for under 30 dollars.
I put all of these and got all of these if you don't get them watch garage sales, all of these things help greatly when you get home from the hospital.

A few things I can think of:
~A bath tub for the baby ... You will have to sponge bathe them for the first couple of weeks.
~A bobby pillow is very nice ... you can use it for feeding now and then use it to help them learn to sit when they get older.
~A diaper bag
~A swing ... Nice to have
~ Lots of clothes ... You go through them so fast. Ask for newborn as well as 0-3 and 3-6 months. They grow up so fast and I still have clothes with tags on them.
~Lotions, Baby Wash, q-tips, diaper rash cream ... These are lil things that people that don't have a lot of money can pick up.
~Diapers
~Bouncer
~Floor Mats to play on

That is all I've got for now. My daughter just turned 8 months and I'm tring to tell you from experience what I used a lot. My son was 6 when I had her so it was like being a first time mom again. lol I hope this helps.

The diaper champ is better than the genie because you don't have to keeping buying refills. you can use any kind of bag. you need lots of hooded towels and washcloths...lots.
lots of burp cloths and lots of receiving blankets, which you can use to swaddle. you'll also need onesies, t-shirts, diapers(pampers swaddlers are great for newborns), wipes, socks and mittens. boppy or nursing pillow (if breastfeeding), baby swing, stroller, carseat, bibs, bathtub, bottle warmer. i'm sure there is more. babies r us has a checklist. good luck and congratulations!

Be sure to include multiples of wash clothes, towels, blankets, etc. A baby can be messy, and often needs bathing more than once per day. It's nice to have some cloth diapers on hand for a zillion reasons, believe me you will find uses for them. I bought the Fisher Price Aquarium that attaches to the crib for my niece and she loves it. A stroller, car seat, baby buggy, rocking chair, highchair, bookcase, cradle, baby bathtub are things that I can think of off the top of my head.
Good luck!

You are off to a good start. Also very important to register for diapers! :>) Lots of onsies also-- they go thru em like crazy!! Also a car seat--- very important, crib if you don't already have one. Teething rings/toys. Set of baby wipes and lotions and baby soaps, baby hairbrush. You'll want things for when the baby gets older too, like cute outfits, they grow up fast!!!

I hope it will help you a little more. I think you are right on track. I would do 2 hooded towels and different bottles instead of 1 big single set. I found boppy pillow very helpful also.

Dont get the Diaper Genie, (my has been sitting in a corner unused since day one) Diapers (Huggies comfort care and Pampers swaddlers worked for me), crib, baby carrier, bouncer, bottles (I recommend Avent), stroller, car seat. Good Luck :)
