Definitely the steering system, cannot do anything yourself, just sent it to the workshop and they will rectify the fault.

Sounds as if the rag joint has failed. It's a flexible connector that goes between the steering column, and the steering box. It would be useful to know what sort of car...but I had this same thing happen to a Mustang once--you could turn the wheel nearly a half turn, and not affect the direction the car was going. VERY DANGEROUS. Don't drive it in this condition, it could cause a serious accident.
Show me your what???!!

Sounds to me like you need to get it to the alignment shop. I think there are two problems. One, the steering not returning to center- that's an alignment problem. Two, going out of control, also maybe an alignment problem, but sounds as if there is a serious problem with a broken part. I wouldn't drive it, I would have it towed to a shop before it gets you killed....

had a similar problem years ago, what i think may be wrong from that experience is that the casing me be pressing on the steering rod and causing it to stick. at moments when you turn. you really need to get a mechanic to look at it, if you have a friend who is a mechanic get him out to you now. don't wait offer to buy him a pint are something because it could lead to a real serious accident and if you are found to be driving a faulty motor on the public road you could be in deep crap.

Call the tow truck. It's not safe to drive. You have a major failure somewhere in the rack and pinon steering. Have it looked at and fixed. Power steering fluid has absolutely nothing to do with it. Just your regular mechanic should be able to diagnose.

It sounds like you have an alignment problem and a wheel balance issue. does the vehicle pull to one side when you are driving in a straight line? Does the steering wheel shudder in you hands as you increase the speed of the vehicle?

Take it to a front end specialist & have the rack & Pinion checked. The older Dodge Caravans had this problem. I used to own an older dodge caravan so I know what you mean there. Granted you may not have a van, but I have been there myself. Our problem wound up being the rack & Pinion.

Don't mess around. This is a life threatening problem. Take it to the mechanic of your choice. Don't take it to a car dealer as they are way too expensive. The best way to find an honest, and efficient mechanic is through word of mouth. Ask around.
