The reason why I asked this question is because as a person of color, I think that America has come a long way in regards to diversity. Sure, America still needs to face a lot of things in regards to accepting and learning about other cultures and ethnicities, but as a global country, I think we are heading in that direction. Do you think so? Why and/or why not? No question is stupid and everyone is entitled to their opinion. Thanks my American peeps!

in America YES we are the melting pot, diversity brings with
it a merging of good stuff, foods, music and viewpoints for
starters. Personally think that once we get completely past the bull****
of bigotry and racism, we'll be all the stronger nation because of it.

I believe in it. There are many things that if there would have been more diversity wouldnt have happened. Take slavery and women's rights. We are now getting to the place where women are being paid as much as men (even if there is still a lot to conquer). I imagine a world where violence against men will not be a problem. This might take tens, if not hundreds of years but one can be optimistic.

No, I don't think it works at all.
There's far too many concessions given to minority groups, that the majority (Whites in the UK.) of people do not qualify for. Also, the laws of the land are loaded once again, in favour of these 'minorities', thanks to so-called 'political correctness'
This causes much resentment amongst the people 'native' to these countries, thus helping to fuel race riots, & general disorder..
The majority of the minority groups in the UK have no desire to integrate into the British way of life, so why are they here?
Because like the USA, Britain has become a dumping ground for any 'asylum-seeker' that knows how to work the system, & once they arrive they're made for life..
My personal view is "When in Rome, you do as the Romans do."
If you don't like it, then bye bye, you won't be missed..
:)

Multicultural society is ok as long as the people are free to mix and mingle with each other as they wish.

Unfortunately some cultures and religions forbid romance and intermarriage with people of other cultures and religions. And such intolerance can create animosities and permanent divisions within the multicultural society.

As long as religion gets cleared out of the way, yes.

We do not live in a multicultural society though (the "we" is American btw). Why? Because as I write, blacks only hang out with blacks, Latinos go to mostly Spanish-speaking churches, Jews send their kids to Yeshivas, Greeks send their kids to "greek school", and Asian parents freak out when their kids date non-Asians. I don't call that multicultural. I call that Balkanization.

I believe that we are becoming a multi-cultural society. The unfortunate part is that instead of assimilating all the cultures into one, everyone is holding out for their specific culture, and expect all others to enter into their culture.

Since God created all life on this planet we are all brothers and sisters and children of God. I believe we should dismantle all borders and help each other to a peaceful world where race and religion and political differences do not exist. Then we soon have Heaven on earth!
