My friend who came from an Asian country had to stay in a hotel for a week with his 2 yr old daughter, she was having jet lag and she woke up by 2 at night and started crying. The man at the neighbouring room complained and threatened him that he would call a police. He requested him that he would vacate in a couple of days and he did so. I really felt sorry for him and his child.

This is the reason that so many kids are frightened of cops. They are used as bogeymen, and the child is told that they will be punished by the police for minor transgressions. When I wore a uniform, I've had mothers yank inquisitive children away from me, and tell them to "stay away". Giving the child a definite message, that there was something wrong with talking to a cop. Should the child ever need assistance, he would more than likely refrain from seeking out a police officer for help.

I'm guessing the neighbor didn't know about the whole thing. He was likely threatening to call the cops because it is a common threat, called disturbing the peace. Simply being too loud and annoying. If this was a hotel though he should have contacted the Front Desk instead though and had the room changed or something. In the case of a child crying the cops likely wouldn't do a thing. As was said this guy was just trying to scare the person and threaten them. If the cops came they would see it was a crying child, hear what the cause was, and likely let it go. Just like a typical case where it would be like someone blasting a radio or something and if they came they would simply get the radio turned down. They only charge it as a crime as a last measure usually.

If they did get kicked out theres something wrong with that....
For kids it is so hard to adjust to the time change. I came from an Asian country when I was 10 and me and my sisters would wake up around 3 AM because of the time change.

When u said naughty I thought some kids vandalized or something but a crying 2 year old should not be a huge issue that should warrant a police call

No there is no law. The neighbor should have simply requested that one of the parties see if they can get their room switched.
