Trust your heart. Find something you really enjoy doing and do that. It does not matter how impractical it maybe. Do it. Do something that makes you happy. I knew (before I went to college) that I didn't want to have a normal job that would put me in a cubical or behind some desk by the time I was 35. I studied Musical Theater in college, and though I'm not on Broadway and I hated liveing NYC. It's taken me all around the world, literally, and I met my wife because of it. You never know what's down the road so find something you love. What do you do with a BA in English?

Best advice, keep searching-one way to figure out what you want out of a career, is to write down your strengths, then write out what you like, and add in any natural talent you may have, be it English and writing stories, then possibly a career within the media or a clerical position.
Working with numbers, good in Mathematics-then possibily a career in accounting, or banking.
Making people laugh, then maybe a career in the entertainment business-
The trick is, to determine what you like to do, it may take a while, but the perfect job will either find you, or you will find it-never give up, and keep searching.
Good Luck

My neighbor hired me when I was about 14 to help him with his small community business, I would hand write general ledgers and add the columns up for him (his vision was failing at the time). I was hooked, accounting to me is a different puzzle that I must solve every day, somedays it drives me crazy but when I find the answer to the puzzle its all worth it...
My company has thrown in a LOT of management duties on me which brings the job down some but I still love it and if given the opportunity to choose a different career can only think of 1 that would tempt me away and that would be in the Forensic Science field.... Happy career hunting - try to find one that suits your personality, I actually like numbers and organization and budgets, etc. but remember you do want to make a living while I think you should choose a career that will make you happy you do have to be reasonable and choose a career that pays enough for you to live on.

No one does for a while...some people never figure it out. the trick is to figure out what you love, and what you're good at - keeping track of a lot of different things? Working under pressure? Being very detail-oriented and organized? Working on your own, or with a group of people?
Once you know your attributes, you find a job that incorporates most of them. There is a classic book called "What Color Is Your Parachute?" that has a lot of advice on how to figure out what those attributes are and how to find the job that's right for you.
Good luck!
