Im 3 1/2 months pregnant. I still have not felt the baby. All my friends tell me they did this far along. How can I get it to move or is it ok?

It's ok not to feel the baby yet if you are 3 1/2 months pregnant. At first you might question the feelings, but later it will become really obvious as the baby gets bigger and you can start to define where legs and arms typically are. As long as you're hearing the heartbeat at your prenatal appointments I wouldn't worry!! You can even buy a heart beat monitor like they use at the doctor/midwife's for about $100-$150.

I'm heavy and with my first I did realize I was getting kicked until about 20 weeks. I even had my first ultrasound and saw baby moving and flipping and I did not feel a thing. If the doctor is checking for a heart beat at your appointment, baby is doing well.

Women feel kicks differently. For me it felt like a muscle twitch, like the ones you get in an eyelid or finger, but lighter and inside. Others had said it was like butterflies, gas, or a flutter.

Trust me, between 7 and 9 months there will be no doubt when you are getting kicked. LOL

Take care - you'll do great.

If it's your first then you'll probably start feeling the little 'kicks' within a few more weeks, usually around 16 weeks sometimes not til 20 weeks. You'll think it's gas at first lol but then you'll realize it your baby moving around and kicking you! By your 8th month and especially during the 9th you'll wish they would just be still lol....my kids would kick me up in my ribs! ouch! But they were both 22 inches and over 9 lbs so they didn't have much room in there =)

The usual time to start feeling movement is anywhere from 16-20 weeks. Some women can feel the baby sooner if they've already had a previous pregnancy.

It's totally fine. I'm small and I didn't feel my baby till the 4th month. If you don't feel him/her by the late 4th month, something might be wrong. There is no mistaking the kick of a baby. lol...Enjoy the time no tho cuz sometimes the kicks hurt or the baby moves under your ribs and you feel like you are about to die. Don't worry. Congratulations and Good Luck!

Once your doctor confirms that the baby is ok on your visits you don't have anything to worry about. Everyone is different so just because they felt their babies move this early that doesn't mean that you will. i started feeling my first movements in my 16th week and my friend started feeling her first movements in her 20th week, so it really depends on the pregnancy. Don't do anything to try to make the baby move, he/she will move in his/her own time and it will be the greatest thing to you in the world. .............especially when you don't expect it!

it happens at different times for different people, so don't panic yet. If you are concerned, talk to your doctor/midwife and get their opinion. After all, the baby's not looking @ a calendar, going "OMG! 3 1/2 months, I gotta start kicking the crap out of my mom's ribs!"

I'm 19 weeks pregnant...I started feeling a little poke here and there in my 17th week. But then again there are times that I don't feel anything.....I've noticed that I feel movement when I 'm laying down to go to sleep.
