WE DO, BUT ONLY AFTER THEY HAVE GIVEN IT A GOOD TRY ON THEIR OWN. WE DON'T COME OUT AND GIVE THEM THE ANSWERS, WE JUST TRY AND EXPLAIN IT BETTER SO THEY CAN FIND THE ANSWER ON THEIR OWN.
WE ALSO HAVE WONDERFUL TEACHERS THAT DON'T MIND A PHONE CALL FROM OUR CHILDREN IF THEY NEED TO HAVE SOMETHING EXPLAINED BETTER. AND THEN IF THEY STILL CAN'T GET IT, THEN THE TEACHER WILL WORK WITH THEM THE NEXT DAY AND NORMALLY TAKE THAT (THE PHONE CALL) INTO CONSIDERATION WHEN GIVING THE GRADE. I HAVEN'T MET A TEACHER YET THAT WOULD RATHER A CHILD NOT COMPLETE AN ASSIGNMENT, THAN TO QUESTION THEM WHEN THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND SOMETHING. THAT'S WHAT THEY ARE THERE FOR.
WE HAVE BEEN VERY FORTUNATE.

It is a great thing to do! All the way through school we were always ready to help. It can build enthusiasm, it can make the experience a lot less boring, and it builds a great relationship, too. Both my wife and I are science types, but her British education has left her with a feel for both literature and French that I simply do not have. We spent hours, sometimes, with our kids debating their history especially as it viewed the British! What fun years those were. Needless to say, as they got older homework was more of a challenge to us than to them, but they had great fun testing our limits. Both our children have developed a love of learning that I hope they can pass on to their children.

If the subject is fun... Sometimes we fight over it to see who gets to do it! Strange how we hate homework when we are kids and love it as adults. It amazes me how much smarter kids are today than we were years ago.
Mostly I help my older son get straight A's in Literature and poetry and my hubby helps him in Science and Weather and stuff like that.
and yes... We do it for him sometimes... but only because we know that he CAN do it himself and get just as good a mark. He is a smart little bugger.

I help my children with their homework. Usually they are so clueless to what they're doing that I wonder what the hell (pardon my language) the teacher teaches them in the classroom.
