I think trimestral, it allows you to focus more on specific subjects and gives you less assignments total to do at once, so you have an easier workload, even though it goes by faster.

It just doesn't bog you down as much I think.

Ideally for me it would be divided into quarters, with breaks between each one of the same length. That way you focus more, get better grades, then get a little break then back to work. Plus it just seems terribly efficient.

As a student of a trisemestral university, I will have to say that semestral is better. Yes, you graduate faster in trisem but it is not true that you can concentrate more on specific subjects and it definitely does not lessen the time for forgetting lessons. If anything, we actually forget lessons more because because we have to learn new ones in the next 3 months. It seriously bogs you down more because of all the requirements that have to submitted in a lesser amount of time than in a semestral system. Additionally, you don't have that many breaks which means you're bound to get more tired. Finally, what I hate the most about the trisem system is that you don't get much time to read material of all the subjects because that's what I think is really important.

But that's just my say. :)

Trimester is better for students. It lessens the time that they have for forgetting what they have learned.
