Okay....here is the thing, I am 32 weeks pregnant, everything seems to be going pretty good thus far. However I have had this brown discharge in my panties when I go the bathroom, it isn't a lot(at all!)-just a enough to notice it...and it isn't everytime I go to the bathroom, just sometimes, and when I wipe there is never anything...I am just wondering what this could be, its been like this off and on for well over a week now...does this have anything to do with my mucus plug? Being that I am a 1st time mom I have no CLUE what to expect! Someone please give me some advice or input-thanx

I am also 32 weeks. There has been two occasions that I've notice a bit of brown on my liner. It's so slight that I cant even call it blood. It didnt really concern me because I didnt think it was blood but, if I were you, I would talk to your dr. I've heard that you can loose your mucus plug in pieces. Also, I've heard that when you loose your plug, it doesnt neccessarily mean you will go into labor soon. It could be weeks away.

This is from BabyCenter:
"Call your practitioner right away if you're not yet at 37 weeks and you notice an increase in discharge or a change in the type of discharge (if it becomes watery, mucus-like, or bloody — even if it's just tinged with pink or brownish old blood). This can be a sign of preterm labor."
Here is another possibility:
Are you still sexually active? If so, do you notice the discharge after sex? If so, the doctor will probably recommend you stop until you are closer to your due date (happened with me for #2). The prostaglandins in semen naturally softens (ripens) the cervix and this could be starting you to dilate. If this is the case and you stop now you should not have problems getting to your due date (but I'm no doc).

Yeah I'd talk that over with your doctor or midwife too. I have heard that usually signals labor is about to begin if you're having any spotting (or blood) now. 32 weeks is pretty early, but even if you go into labor now, your baby has an excellent chance of surviving. Technology has really come a long way. Good luck!

I am also 32weeks pregnant with my first but have not experienced anything like this. I don't think your discharge should be brown though, even though it is not much you should probably be on the safe side and consult your doctor. Don't worry yourself too much either because you are not getting any pains which means that everything should be fine.

First of all, relax. Take a deep breath. I know you're worried, but remember that women have babies every day. Call your doctor or assistant if you are truly concerned. A little spotting is not usually a big deal, but check with them for reassurance.

yea it might be the mucus plug starting to come out i would call you're OB and ask them, if they think its something to worry about they will tell you to come in. Well my plug really didnt come out.. it was more my doctor checking me everytime and me seeing blood and she said i had lost it. You can lose this up to a week before u go into labor, but remember everyone women is different!!! Good luck!

Heyyy its most likely your mucous plug.. they told me i could lose it a month before i even go into labor! but since you are only 32 weeks.. i would call my doctor and tell them that that happened.. she wiill most likely see you today and check to see if you dialated and see how the babies doing! Hey, when you are pregnant, a little bit of blood is normal. I would call your doctors office just to be safe tho.
